Banking in Malta is very practical and any number of accounts can be opened in any currency with major international banks in Malta be it term, saving, or current accounts including the issue of VISA or Master credit cards. An undertaking is required to be signed to confirm applicants' obligations under The Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 1994 and this prior to the opening of a bank account. Banks can also pay in bank notes if given prior notice. We generally use Bank of Valletta plc, HSBC Bank Malta plc and Sparkasse Bank Malta plc, however other alternatives are available.
